LONDON — Britain’s biggest pharmacy giant Chemist-owned UK pharmacy, which last month agreed to buy the world’s most expensive drugstore, is now asking the British government to exempt the online giant from paying fines if the pharmacy is found to be selling counterfeit Viagra.
The company, which is based in London, is offering its services online for £1 a tablet at a time and will have £50 a month to buy the drug, which has been available from pharmacies in Britain since the late 1990s.
The move comes amid a series of UK legal cases that have been settled in the U. K. and the United States since April.
The British regulator said in a statement that it was “relying on the expertise of UK’s most experienced and respected pharmacists and on the safety and effectiveness of medicines available online”. It also said that it was “reviewing all available evidence and will consider the safety and efficacy of medicines available online”.
Under the terms of the agreement, Chemist-owned UK will be able to sell its services online and be able to offer prescriptions without a prescription in the same country.
The decision comes amid a series of UK case deals between Chemist-owned UK and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over the sale of fake Viagra pills and the sale of counterfeit pills and creams in the U. S. and Europe.
The move comes after the U. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) settled a case in July alleging that the company illegally marketed and sold fake, unbranded, counterfeit Viagra. A complaint said the drugmaker sold the pills and the tablets for £1, to pharmacies in the United States, and to other health insurers.
The case involved an online pharmacy called 'Cheers Pharmacy' and a pharmacy in Britain's online shoppingCRIPTION business, which sells over-the-counter medicines without a prescription.

“It is important that chemists, who are authorised to sell prescription medicines in the U. S., and pharmacies in the UK make their products available in the U. to the public,” the FDA said.

He told the court that he had tried to have sex with the victim and had been impotent for over a year.
He said that when he first started taking the medication he had not been able to find the right number of sexual partners, and when he became unable to have sex at all, he had been sexually abused.
